Playing Career

Club(s)
Campbell was a product of Huddersfield Town AFC Centre of Excellence, before being taken to Manchester United FC's Academy in 1997, during which time he also played with Stile Common FC, signing professionally with United on 22 March 2006. His United career was short, with intermittent periods of loan to various clubs, firstly Royal Antwerp FC of the EXQI League (The Belgian second division) for the 2006-07, where he scored 21 goals in 33 league appearances. Campbell returned to United in August 2007, to go out on loan in the October to Hull City AFC, for the rest of the season. Campbell again returned to United for the 2008-09 season before joining Tottenham Hotspur FC on a season-long loan on 1 September 2008. He had turned down the chance to join Hull City AFC for a £7 million fee. Hull were persistent, and in June 2009, they tried again with a £6 million fee accepted. Campbell opted to join Sunderland AFC on 11 July 2009 for £5.5 million. He left the north-east to sign with Cardiff City FC on 21 January 2013 for £650,000. The, he signed with Crystal Palace FC on 24 July 2014 for £600,000, despite offers from Leicester City FC and Queen's Park Rangers FC. He did eventually sign for Hull City AFC, on 18 July 2017, until he was released at the end of the 2018-19 season. On 12 August 2019, Campbell returned to and signed for Huddersfield Town AFC.
