Diary
Monday, 3 September 1984
- Bobby Robson has called together 28 of England's
top players to help him plan his strategy for the World Cup qualifying campaign.
By naming an over-sized squad for next week's friendly against East Germany, the
England manager has also delayed making a choice between the experienced
internationals who missed the summer trip to South America and the youngsters
who did well on the tour. Manchester United's Remi Moses and Sheffield
Wednesday's Mel Sterland both earn their first call-ups to the squad.
