Diary
Wednesday,
12 May 2010 - Arsenal's Carlos Vela and West Ham striker Guillermo Franco
have been included in Mexico's provisional 26-man World Cup squad. Javier
Hernandez, who is set to join Manchester United in the summer, and Tottenham's
Giovani, on loan at Guadalajara, are also selected. Morelia striker Miguel
Sabah is left out as he struggles to recover from a tendon injury in his leg.
Coach Javier Aguirre's squad contains only five recognised midfielders.
However, defenders Rafael Marquez, Juan Carlos Valenzuela and Adrian Aldrete can
play in midfield.
Friday,
14 May 2010 - The Mexican Association report that both Adrian Aldrete and
Juan Carlos Valenzuela will join up with the Mexican team before the World Cup
Finals kick-off, and not for their tour of Europe.
