Friday, 7 November 2014 - Srečko Katanec has named his squad to face England and Colombia later this month. Fiorentina midfielder Josip Iličić is left out once more, and is unlikely to feature again while Katanec is in charge of the national team. Augsburg forward Tim Matavz has also been left out because of his poor form.  For the match against Colombia, some of the first team regulars have been left out to be replaced by seven newcomers.

Thursday, 13 November 2014 - Slovenia trained today with a full squad, including winger Kevin Kampl who has been troubled by a hamstring injury. The FC Salzburg man went through a special programme which gives hope he could be ready to face England at Wembley on Saturday and midfielder Jasmin Kurtić is optimistic: "Kevin is doing great. We need him healthy and fit for England. For now we were preparing only our way of play, tomorrow we will talk and watch the English team. It is important that we are confident, that we respect them, but that we are not afraid. We will fight and try to come back to Slovenia with at least a point. It is one of the biggest trips in my career and I hope it will also have beautiful ending." The side will fly to London on Friday, after enjoying meeting fans and children who were invited along to today's session."
