Monday, 30 September 2024 - Greek national team coach, Ivan Jovanovic, has named a 25-man squad to face England at Wembley, and then Republic of Ireland in Dublin, in next week's Nations League preliminary matches. Greece currently head the League table, by virtue of scoring one more goal than their rivals, England. The players will arrive at Atromitos Training Centre on Monday, 7 October.

Monday, 7 October 2024 - Ivan Jovanovic takes the first training session of the Greek national team at Atromitos Sports Centre.

Wednesday, 9 October 2024 - In the early evening, the Greek squad are training on the pitch at Wembley's National Stadium. It comes before the news that former Greek international, George Baldock, 31, has died. His body was found in his swimming pool at his home in Glyfada, despite attempts to resuscitate. Baldock, who joined Panathinaikos in the summer after seven years with Sheffield United, was born in Buckingham and was able to play for Greece thanks to his paternal grandmother.

Thursday, 10 October 2024 - The Greek FA have asked UEFA for a postponement to the match following last night's tragic events. Due to a busy calendar, the idea was downgraded to the wearing of black armbands during tonight's match, following a period of silence as a mark of respect, as well as Sunday's match with Republic of Ireland.
Greece will be without their key player Fotis Ioannidis for tonight's match with England. He came off just before half-time in Sunday's league match against Olympiakos with a groin injury.
