Agbonlahor was
first noticed playing for local side Great Barr Falcon FCs, where his quick
pace brought him success as a young teenager. He was spotted by his local
league
team Aston Villa FC, signing a professional contract on 1 July 2004. A loan
period to Watford FC on 22 September 2005, and
then to Sheffield Wednesday FC on 28 October 2005 for two month's followed before
he settled into first-team football with Villa, earning the position of
club captain for the 2015-16 season.... |
On 1 April 2016, Aston Villa suspended Agbonlahor, pending an
investigation into reports that he was pictured appearing to hold a shisha
pipe while on holiday in Dubai. On 19 April 2016, he was again suspended
after he was allegedly pictured with laughing gas canisters. He was
punished with a substantial fine and resigned the captaincy. |
|
...Agbonlahor
turned down a move to Reading FC in early 2017-18, before being released by
Villa at the end of the the 2018-19 season,. After failing to find another
club, Agbonlahor announced his retirement from the game on 27 March 2019. |
