Having began his football playing street soccer in Burundi,
Berahino played with junior side Phoenix United FC before being signed to
West Bromwich Albion FC's Centre of Excellence. Signing professionally in
summer 2011. To earn experience, he was loaned to Northampton Town FC on
20 October 2011 for three months. He then went to Brentford AFC on 9 February
2012 for two months.
He returned to make his Baggies debut in the 2012-13 season, but was
soon loaned out to Peterborough United FC on 1 October 2012. Returning to West Bromwich
to earn his place, until he was suspended for failing a drugs
test. Multiple bids were rejected from Tottenham Hotspur FC in August
2015. Stoke City FC and Crystal Palace FC tabled bids in July 2016. He
eventually signed for Stoke City FC on 20 January 2017 for £12 million.
On 27 May 2019, it was announced that his contract would be contracted and
in the July, he was training with Belgian club, SV Zulte Waregem. He made
a single friendly appearance for French side, Nímes Olympique. He
was released from Stoke on 7 August 2019 and signed with Zulte on 9
August. Two years later, Berahino returned to England when he signed with
Sheffield Wednesday FC on Transfer Deadline Day, 31 August 2021, he was
released on 21 May 2022. |
