Born 28 March 1965 in Lea Brook Road, Wednesbury, Staffordshire [registered in Wednesbury, March 1965]. Moved to Tipton when he was three years-old. Attended Ocker Hill Infants, Wednesbury Oak Primary School and Willingsworth High School.
Married First to Sarah Turner in 1989 [no registration found], second to Julie Dace [registered in Cannock Chase, Staffs., June 1991], and thirdly, to Kirsty Powell in Malta, 2004 [no registration available]

Club Career

Club(s) Started with Tipton Town FC in 1981, West Bromwich Albion FC signed him on a free transfer on 24 August 1985, but despite scoring two league goals in four league appearances (two starts and two subs), he was sold to Wolverhampton Wanderers FC for a £55,000 transfer fee on 21 November 1986 along with Andy Thompson. A fee he repaid time and again when he scored a massive 249 goals in 474 league appearances. He announced his retirement from the professional game on 13 July 1999. He spent the 2001-01 season coaching Conference side, Hereford United FC, scoring twice in six Conference games.
