Club Career |
Club(s) |
Started his
career playing schoolboy football in Liverpool. Joined the Anfield
groundstaff in 1957, playing as an apprentice until he turned professional
in March 1960. He scored fifty goals in
640 league appearances until he was allowed to leave for Swansea
City FC in September 1978, but not before he spent the summer with Fort
Lauderdale Strikers, making twenty NASL
appearances. His time at Vetch Field was only interrupted by
another summer loan in 1979 when he spent nine
appearances with Canberra City FC in Australia. He returned
to Swansea and remained until January 1981,
making 76 league appearances, scoring just the once. He left to
assist Cork City FC, playing twice in the Irish
League, and also Norwegian club Sandefjord BK. He returned to help
Crewe Alexandra FC from October 1981 until his retirement in February
1982. He made fifteen Alex league appearances. |
