Began his playing career
playing schoolboy football in Birmingham. Played with Westbourne Celtic FC
in the Handsworth League. West Bromwich Albion FC signed him in April
1921. Sheffield Wednesday FC signed Carter on 6 February 1936, but the
contract was cancelled within the week (12th) following an accident at his
home on the 7th. Instead, on 29 June 1936, Tranmere FC Rovers obtained
Carter's signature, but only for a short while, as Walsall FC signed him
in November 1936. He then became the player-manager of Vono Sports FC from
1937 until 1940, when he retired. |
