Playing Career |

Began his footballing
career, aged ten years, in the Sunderland AFC youth team,
signing his professional contract on 30 May 2008. He spent
2009-11 seasons on loan at Ipswich Town FC,
signing on 6 August 2009 and 15 October 2010. He returned to
the Sunderland AFC first team from
2011, until July 2014, when he
controversially crossed the Tyne to join rivals Newcastle United FC.
After struggling to hold down a regular place, in the
the 2017 summer transfer window, Colback turned down loan opportunities
with Hull City AFC, Wolverhampton Wanderers FC, as well as a return to his old club,
Sunderland AFC, wishing to remain and train with the junior side. However,
he finally moved on when he joined Nottingham Forest FC on loan on
transfer deadline day, 31 January 2018, for the rest of the season. On 20
July 2018, Colback returned to Forest for another season-long loan. He
returned to St. James' Park for the 2019-20 but did not feature. He was
then released on 23 June 2020 and re-signed for Nottingham Forest FC
on a free transfer on 11 August. He was again released by Forest on 2 June
2023. Joined Queen's Park Rangers FC on 1 August. |
