Club in April 1908 for £300. His long and distinguished Sheffield
career ended after 424 league appearances when he joined Mansfield
Town FC as player-manager in June 1926 until December 1927. |

Mansfield Town FC as player-manager in June 1926. He then joined
Chesterfield AFC as a secretary-manager on 2 January 1928, before bringing
his secretarial and managerial experience back to Sheffield in June 1932,
when he became the secretary-manager of Sheffield United FC. He left
the position in August 1952, to take up the managerial position back at
Chesterfield AFC, and there he stayed until May 1958. Upon which he became
the Chief Scout. |
