Club Career

Club(s) Ferdinand started is career with non-league clubs such as AEL FC, and Southall FC and Hayes FC, it was from there that Queen's Park Rangers FC signed Les for £15,000 on 12 March 1987. 163 league appearances followed, in which he scored 80 goals.  In between times, he was loaned to Brentford AFC for three league appearances from 24 March 1988. For the 1988-89 season, Ferdinand was loaned to Turkish side, Beşiktaş JK.  His scoring record was suffice for Newcastle United FC to pay £6 million for his signature on 7 June 1995. 41 goals in 68 Premier League appearances followed. Tottenham Hotspur FC paid another £6 million for Ferdinand on 5 August 1997, where he would play another 118 Premier League appearances, scoring 33 goals, in an injury-plagued period. He was linked with a move to Kevin Keegan's Fulham FC in May 1999. Ferdinand joined West Ham United FC in January 2003, after their relegation and two goals in fourteen Premier League appearances, Ferdinand opted to remain in the Premier League with Leicester City FC, until they were relegated at the end of 2003-04 (29 Premier League appearances, twelve goals), whereupon Ferdinand joined Bolton Wanderers FC. Although starts were limited, Ferdinand still managed twelve appearances, scoring once. He left on 2 January 2005 and four days later, signed for Reading FC, where he remained until the end of the season, having played twelve times, scoring just the one. In 2005-06, Ferdinand signed with Watford FC on a non-contract basis, he retired shortly before his 40th birthday without playing a single competive game with Watford.
