register. HIs death registration states the 10th. |

census, Harry is the fourth of seven children to John William and Ada.
They live at 6 Croft Street in Blackburn. His father was a railway plate
layer. |

According to the 1911
census, Henry remains at home, now at 3 Vincent Street, with John William
and Ada, along with five of his siblings. He is a cotton weaver. His
father now a stone mason labourer. |
Marriage |
to Elizabeth Hayes
[registered as Harry Healless in Blackburn, March 1913]. They had two
children, Frank (b.15 July 1913) and Ada (b.1923). |

Playing Career |
Club(s) |
Began his junior career playing with
Blackburn Athletic FC, and also Victoria Cross FC, a Blackburn junior
club. He was at Blackburn Trinity FC when he was spotted by Blackburn
Rovers FC, who he played amateur for during the 1914-15 season. He was a
member of the Royal Lancaster Regiment, before he signed professional
forms with Rovers in May 1919. He became the club captain from 1927-28,
and he remained with the Ewood Park club until his retirement in April
1933. After he returned from Netherlands, he was re-instated as an amateur
and assisted Haslingden Grane FC. After WW2, he was still playing in
Blackburn junior football as a full-back into his fifties. |

appointment in Netherlands in 1935 curtailed his political career. He
resigned from being the Conservative candidate for Blackburn on 27
