Club Career

Club(s) Played schoolboy football in Liverpool before signing amateur forms with Liverpool FC in May 1959, turning professional on 20 October 1960. He went on to score a tremendous 41 goals as a right-back in 406 league appearances, before he joined Portsmouth FC in October 1975, he played another thirty league appearances. Through the 1976 summer, he joined the Miami Toros of the NASL on loan, featuring in 21 matches. Stockport County AFC in August 1977 for another 36 league appearances, scoring three goals, but joined Bangor City FC before the end of the season. After which he retired to Norway and turned his hand to coaching, whilst playing for IK Grand Bodo and Raufoss IL.

After he finished playing, he became a coach in Norway and from October 1981, he became assistant manager at Wigan Athletic FC.
