Began playing football in the Leicestershire Senior League with
Quorn Methodists FC. Signed by Leicester City FC in February 1941. At the
resumption of league football, Lee would play 123 times, scoring
	  74. Derby County FC signed Lee on 29 June 1950 for £18,500. County
had attempted to sign Lee in 1947, as did Stoke City FC, but City refused
to sell. After 93 league appearances and 54 goals with
the Rams, he was then sold to Coventry City FC on 18 November 1954 for a
cut-price £5,000. He remained until the end of the season after
fifteen league appearances and eight goals. |
