Age 26 |
On 25 March 1970, Sir Alf Ramsey announced a 28-man provisional squad
to take to Mexico. Sir Alf named a
further twelve reserves, who were inoculated
and received medical certificates for one simple reason; any one of them
could be called in an emergency. Those given 'reserve' status included Bob McNab.
McNab was then called into the provisional squad, but was one of the
unsuccessful six players to be sent home on 23 May.
