Signed
for Burnley FC on 4 July 2007 from being a trainee, working his way
through the youth ranks. Spent time in Scotland on loan with Stirling
Albion FC from 11 January 2008 until the end of the season. He
trained with Burnley and made eleven Scottish League Division One
appearances, scoring three times. He returned to Burnley until he was briefly loaned to Barnsley FC for a month on 1
February 2010.
After returning to Turf Moor, Rodríguez
turned down a move to Cardiff City FC and instead, joined Southampton FC on 10 June
2012 for £7 million fee. Despite missing the
2014-15 season because of a knee injury, he settled into the first team
until he joined West Bromwich Albion
FC on 2 July 2017 for a £12 million transfer fee, before, on 9 July 2019, Rodríguez was
re-signed by Burnley FC for an initial £5 million fee, with another £5
million paid a year later. |
