school and collided with an oncoming vehicle. His vehicle caught fire and

Spent his youth
football with Sunday league team Senrab FC, West Ham United FC, then Charlton Athletic FC,
before becoming an Aston Villa FC YTS
trainee, and signing professionally on January 1999. He was loaned to
Gillingham FC in October 2001, making eight First Division
appearances. After 169 Villa Premier League appearances and two
goals, he signed for Bolton Wanderers FC on
1 July 2007 to become Sammy Lee's first signing at the club. He
completed 71 Premier League appearances, before being loaned to Cardiff
City FC on 24 March 2011, making six Championship appearances.
After being released from Bolton, he had trials, on 19 July with Leeds
United AFC, and on 30 July, with West Ham United FC, neither club offered
him a contract, so on 31 December, he signed with Iranian side, Esteghlal
FC, making sixty Iran Pro League appearances, scoring four goals.
After a pay dispute, on 23 June 2014, Samuel transferred to Paykan FC,
appearing in another 27 Iran Pro League appearances. Became the player
manager at Egerton FC in 2017, making six league appearances,
before his untimely death. |
