Born 23 January 1986 in Greenwich, London [registered in Greenwich, January 1986]. Moved to Tyneside when he was two-weeks old.

Club Career

Club(s) Having played his youth football with Cramlington Juniors FC and the infamous Wallsend Boys' Club, Taylor signed professionally with Newcastle United FC in July 2002. After he spent a month on loan with Tony Adams' Wycombe Wanderers FC in December 2003, playing in six league matches, he returned to St. James' Park, and remained until he was released again on 2 June 2016, he was released then signed on a year ealier, he had played in 215 league matches, scoring thirteen times. On 1 August 2016, he joined MLS club Portland Timbers. After nine MLS appearances and one goal, on 15 December, he returned to England, and on 25 January 2017, he signed with Ipswich Town FC. He made just three Championship appearances, before signing for Peterborough United FC on 25 July 2017. He made forty League One appearances, and scored three times, in his only season. On 10 July 2018 Taylor joined A-League side Wellington Phoenix FC, appointed club captain before 2019-20. He left the Phoenix by mutual agreement on 14 September 2020. Two days later, Taylor signed with Odisha FC in India. After terminating his contract on 5 March 2021, Taylor returned to Phoenix, however, he announced his retirement from playing on 28 September 2021.
