Tunisia have cancelled their game against Argentina scheduled for Wednesday. The warm-up match was only arranged a month ago, but Tunisia's coach Ammar Souayah has called it off saying he does not want to over exert his players. Marco Biesla's men now plan to play J-League side Kashima Antlers instead.

Thursday, 23 May 2002 - Gabriel Batistuta scores four goals in Argentina's 5-1 win over Kashima Antlers.

Sunday, 2 June 2002 - Argentina moved ominously towards the top of Group F with a well-disciplined win over Nigeria. The prolific Gabriel Batistuta rose majestically to head a second half winner for the tournament favourites. Argentina were forced into a late reshuffle after Roberto Ayala was forced to withdraw with a thigh injury.
