Squad details correct up to
and including Croatia's match against Andorra on 7 October 2006.
Diary
Wednesday,
21 September 2006 - Croatia coach Slaven Bilić has recalled three
expelled players in his squad for next month's Euro 2008 qualifiers against
Andorra and England in Zagreb. Midfielder Darijo Srna and forwards Boško
Balaban and Ivica Olić were fined and dropped from the squad earlier this
month after they left a training camp in Slovenia to go to a nightclub.
All three were named in the 24-man squad, although Srna was doubtful due to an
ankle injury. "We want to win both games as we need to clinch maximum
points at home if we want to take the first place in the group," Bilić told
reporters. Defenders Dario Šimic of AC Milan and Josip Šimunic of
Hertha Berlin, who were suspended after earning red cards on the World Cup in
Germany, also return.
Wednesday,
4 October 2006 - Croatia's offensive midfielder Darijo Srna will
not play against Andorra on Saturday and may also miss the match against
England four days later. Srna had to leave the team's training session
because of a muscle rupture. CSKA Moscow forward Ivica Olić is also
uncertain for the coming qualifiers in Zagreb because of a knee injury.
If Olić is ruled out, Slaven Bilić said he would call up uncapped Parma
striker Igor Budan. Concerns are also shown over Milan Rapaic, who cold
also miss both qualifiers.
