Monday, 22 April 1985 - Bobby Robson has named his squad for the World Cup qualification match against Romania next week. There are no surprises, although it was expected that Everton in-form duo Paul Bracewell and Peter Reid had done enough to earn a call-up, in place of Glenn Hoddle, who has been struggling lately. Chris Waddle has kept his place in the squad, despite calls to bring in Graham Rix.

Saturday, 26 April 1985 - Alan Kennedy has withdrawn from the squad because of an injury.

Sunday, 27 April 1985 - The England squad meet up ahead of their clash with Romania on Wednesday. Before the squad leaves, Hateley has withdrawn, to be replaced by Luther Blissett.
