Diary

Wednesday, 11 May 2016 - Caltex Socceroos Head Coach Ange Postecoglou has named a 23-player squad for the upcoming friendly match against England. He has made nine changes to the squad that defeated Tajikistan and Jordan in March with Milos Degenek, Brad Inman, Jamie Maclaren and Stefan Mauk receiving their first ever call-up for the Socceroos. Craig Goodwin has also been included having last played during the 2013 EAFF East Asian Cup.

Tuesday, 17 May 2016 - Ange Postecoglou has named a 23-player squad for The Dodoni Series international matches against Greece which will be played on Saturday, 4 June at ANZ Stadium, Sydney and also on Tuesday, 7 June at The Etihad Stadium in Melbourne. Coming into the Caltex Socceroos squad are Mark Birighitti (Newcastle Jets), Nathan Burns (FC Tokyo), Tim Cahill (Hangzhou Greentown FC), Jason Geria  (Melbourne victory FC), Alex Gersbach (Rosenborg BK), Apostolos Giannou (Guangzhou R&F FC), Mathew Leckie (FC Ingolstadt 04), Ryan McGowan (Henan Jianye FC), Trent Sainsbury (Jiangsu Suning FC) and Matthew Spiranović (Hangzhou Greentown FC).
Goalkeeper Birighitti will also be added to the  squad for the match against England, replacing Mitch Langerak, who has had to withdraw due to injury.

Tuesday, 24 May 2016 - On a chilly afternoon at Sunderland's Academy of Light training centre, the Caltex Socceroos kicked off preparations for their match with England. With captain Mile Jedinak rested from training following his FA Cup final exertions on Saturday, all 22 players were involved in the 75-minute session. It wasn't a physically demanding session but it emphasised speed of thought, crisp passing and sharpness. It started at 4pm with static stretches following by active stretching as the keepers then trained separately. A warm down was followed by media commitments before the team headed back to their Newcastle hotel. There was a large media contingent from Australia and the UK to watch training. One interested onlooker was former Socceroos coach Jimmy Shoulder.
