Diary

Monday, 22 May 2017 - Brighton's Jamie Murphy and Aberdeen duo Kenny McLean and Mark Reynolds have been called up to the Scotland squad for their World Cup match with England. Absent from the squad are Matt Ritchie and Grant Hanley, who have been promoted with Newcastle United. Also dropping out from the squad that defeated Slovenia are Leipzig's Oliver Burke, West Brom's Matt Phillips and Middlesbrough's Jordan Rhodes. Winger Phillips and central defender Hanley pulled out of that squad through injury and have not played since April. Ritchie scored in the 4-1 win over Preston North End that secured Newcastle United's promotion to England's top flight but missed the last two games of the season through suspension.

Monday, 29 May 2017 - Sheffield Wednesday striker Steven Fletcher is one of five players out of the Scotland squad to face England after head coach Gordon Strachan slimmed down his original 29. Fletcher picked up an injury in his side's Championship play-off semi-final. Uncapped fellow forward Jamie Murphy, of Brighton, Hibernian's John McGinn and fellow midfielder Kenny McLean, of Aberdeen, also miss out. Hearts goalkeeper Jack Hamilton is not needed after being named as cover. Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney remains in the squad despite suffering a facial injury that forced him to be substituted in the first half of Saturday's 2-1 Scottish Cup final win over Aberdeen. It means that six players remain from Brendan Rodgers' side who completed the Scottish domestic treble.

Thursday, 1 June 2017 - Jack Hamilton returns to the squad as Allan McGregor withdraws through injury. The Hull goalkeeper has a thumb injury.

Scotland captain Darren Fletcher signs for Stoke City FC on a free transfer. The transfer will take effect when his current contract with West Bromwich Albion FC expires on 31 June 2017.
