Thursday, 25 May 2017 - England captain and record goalscorer Wayne Rooney has been left out of Gareth Southgate's squad to face Scotland in a World Cup qualifier and France in a friendly. Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford has been include in the squad and will therefore not play at the European Under-21 Championships in Poland. Tottenham Hotspur's Kieran Trippier is the only new face in the squad, while Stoke goalkeeper Jack Butland returns for the first time since injuring his knee in England’s victory over Germany last March. Burnley's Michael Keane has a calf injury and will not play, but the 24-year-old defender, who made his first two senior appearances earlier this season, will report to St George's Park for one day during the build-up to the double header.

Tuesday, 30 May 2017 - Nathaniel Clyne has pulled out of the squad because of an injury.

Tuesday, 6 June 2017 - The entire squad complete first day of training at St. George's Park. It comes after the squad have spent a couple of days with the Royal Marines' Commando Training Centre in Devon.
Jamie Vardy is withdrawn from the squad after picking up a minor injury in training yesterday.

Friday, 9 June 2017 - The remaining members of the 23-man squad all train at St. George's Park before leaving for Glasgow from Birmingham International Airport. Upon arrival at Hampden Park, Harry Kane is announced as the team captain for tomorrow night.
