Monday, 14 May 2018 -The
Panamanian Football Federation announced today the provisional list of 35 players for the World
Cup Finals in Russia. Among those chosen to appear include the main thrust of the team that achieved the historic World Cup
qualification, goalkeeper Jaime Penedo, defenders Román Torres and Felipe Baloy, midfielder Gabriel Gómez and attackers Blas Pérez and Luis Tejada.
They also highlight the presence of striker Ismael Diaz, RC Deportivo Fabril in the second division of the Spanish League, and
the youthful José Luis Rodríguez, of KAA Gent of Belgium. Prior to leaving for Russia, Panama
will bid farewell to their home fans on 29 May with a match against Northern Ireland.

- Panama 0 Northen Ireland 0: The home supporters gave their team an
enthusiastic send-off in what was the last home match before making their first
appearance in a World Cup tournament. Panama's Édgar Bárcenas came closest
to scoring with a first-half header that came back off the crossbar. The hosts
left captain Román Torres on the bench, with the kick-off delayed by 10 minutes
due to a host of pre-game ceremonies, including a lengthy firework display.

Gómez has chosen his final 23-man squad for the World Cup Finals. Amongst those
missing out from the provisional squad is Azmahar Ariano, Rolando Blackburn,
Ricardo Buitrago, Adalberto Carrasquilla, José Fajardo, José González Joly,
Cristian Martínez, Francisco Palacios and Richard Peralta. Ricardo Ávila,
Miguel Camargo and Roberto Nurse have also been dropped, but remain on the
standby list.
