When England lost to
Uruguay,
Doris Day's Secret Love
was still the best selling single for the eighth week in a row (although its
ninth week as number one). Doris Day now equals Frankie Laine's record of
the artist with the most weeks at the top of the Music Charts. When the chart of Friday,
25 June 1954 was
