The Top Thirty UK Music Chart by New Musical Express 
   

On Friday, 15 November 1952, The New Musical Express published the first ever singles chart in the UK, comprising the twelve highest selling singles of the week, it increased to twenty on Friday, 1 October 1954, and thirty on Friday, 13 April 1956. For just the second time since the chart was first published, England played twice in one publication. So when England drew with the Soviet Union and then Brazil, Connie Francis' Who's Sorry Now was the best selling single for its fourth week. When the chart of Friday, 6 June 1958 was published, there were twenty surviving songs from the last chart when England played three weeks ago:-
