Club Career |
Club(s) |
Began as a West Bromwich Albion FC trainee, signing professional forms on
13 July 1989, and made only two substitute league appearances
before Aston Villa FC signed him for £40,000 on 12 July 1991.
Despite fracturing his eye socket in February 1999, he went on to
play 237
league appearances and score twelve goals.
Ehiogu then joined Middlesbrough FC for £8 million on 20 October 2000, where
he made a further 126 league appearances, scoring seven goals.
Towards the end of his time at The Riverside, he joined Leeds United AFC
on 23 November 2006 on loan for six league appearances, scoring once.
In the January 2006 transfer window, Ehiogu had agreed to rejoin West
Bromwich Albion FC, but this was cancelled after numerous Boro players
became injured. After returning to Middlesbrough from Leeds, his
contract was cancelled and he signed for Rangers FC on 25 January
2007. He went on to play nine SPL matches, scoring once against
The Celtic FC, earning himself the Rangers Goal of the Season. He was released from his contract the following January, whereupon he
signed for Sheffield United FC on 18 January 2008, where he went onto
play 29 league matches, scoring once, before being released from his
contract again. After a trial with MK Dons FC in August 2009, Ehiogu
announced his retirement. |
