C. are married, and are living at 2/4 Ranelagh Street in Leamington.
He was awarded the license on 28 December 1936. By 1955, he was the
licensee at The Cottage Tavern in Ashorne. He retired in May 1966. |

Began playing junior football in the
North Warwickshire League, on the Windmill Ground, for Leamington Town FC.
He signed professional forms on 25 August 1921 for Nuneaton FC in the
Birmingham League, playing as a right-half and captain, during which time
he also represented Birmingham FC at junior level. Many league clubs were
tracking him, but it was Sheffield United FC who signed him on 3 May 1923,
after his wife, Dorothy, sanctioned the move. United moved him to the
left, and he eventually became club captain and after 393 league
appaearnces and ten goals, he returned home when he rejoined
Leamington Town FC as their captain in July 1934. he ended his playing
days on 1 May 1937 when the club folded. |
