Club Career

Club(s) Played schoolboy football in King's Lynn, also playing for King's Lynn Old Boys FC. He was playing for Shouldham FC when Norwich City FC signed him on amateur forms in October 1933, turning professional a month later.  Arsenal FC bought his services for £6000 in March 1935, only retiring through injury in 1943.
