Club(s) |
Played junior football up until he joined Birmingham City FC as an
apprentice, turning professional in August 1968. After 160 league
appearances and 68 goals, he joined Everton FC in February 1974 for a
�80,000 fee plus two players, although it is now deemed, retrospectively a
British Record Transfer Fee for �350,000, a fee repaid with 106
goals in 236 league appearances. Swansea City FC signed Latchford
in July 1981 for �125,000, 87 league matches followed, with
another 35 goals. Travelled to Netherlands in February 1984 to
play for NAC Breda (16 league appearances, 13 goals), but
returned before the summer to join Coventry City FC. After a season at
Highfield Road, twelve league goals and two goals, he
joined Lincoln City FC for another two goals in fifteen league
appearances. He was loaned to Newport County AFC, in January 1986,
where he played his final twenty league matches, scoring five times.
Turned out for Merthyr Tydfil FC in 1986-87. He retired in 1987. |
