with Darfield United FC, Barnsley FC reserves and Shirebrook FC and
Northampton Town FC on 4 November 1913, from where Rochdale AFC signed him
on 8 June 1914. With interest from Manchester City FC, Rawlings joined

clubs seeking him, it was Preston North End FC that signed him on 15 June
1920 for £1500 and
he made 147 league appearances, scoring seventeen goals. Shortly
after a club suspension in March 1922, Rawlings handed in a transfer
request in the June, but it was not until 13 March 1924 when the directors
placed Rawlings on the transfer list when he was signed by Liverpool FC
and he made another 63 league appearances, scoring eight goals.
Walsall FC signed Rawlings on 23 June 1926,
where he made just 23 league appearances. Bradford FC were next to
sign him on 11 February 1927 and he scored five
goals in 21 league outings. Southport FC signed him in July 1928
and he scored three goals in just nine league
appearances. By the end of the year however, on 7 December,
Lancashire Combination outfit Dick, Kerr and Company FC had signed him.
There is no contemporary report to suggest he
played for Burton Town FC however. |
