Some textbooks name Jud Harrison as the player who missed the twice taken penalty kick against Jan de Bie at an unknown time. However, no English reporters covered the match, and Dutch/Belgian reports only state the kick was taken twice, but not by whom. The name of Harrison came from a now dubious source.

    Match Report

IN OTHER NEWS...

It was on 21 May 1921 that the inquest into the death of Horace McNeil of Shepherd's Bush was opened. Four men had appeared at his house at 10:15 at night and asked to see his son-in-law, who was in the Royal Irish Constabulary. When told that he lived in Ireland, the man was shot. Out of fear, neighbours refused to give evidence and the murder was one of several doorstep attacks on the same night believed to have been perpetrated by Sinn Fin, either by members, or supporters of the party fighting for Irish independence. The murder remained unsolved.
