publican and they live at The Elephant Inn, 56 New Street in Andover. |

is newly married to Ethel. They live at 65 Denzil Avenue in Southampton. According to Passenger Lists, William E. was part of the FA
Tour that left Southampton bound for Quebec, Canada on 15 May 1926 on
board the Empress of Scotland, they returned to Liverpool on 23 July 1926
on board the Montroyal. His address is stated as 1 Southcliffe Road
in Southampton. |

Playing Career |
Club(s) |
Began his football career with Andover FC, and carried
on playing football when he was in the army. Joined Southampton FC as an
amateur in 1918, turning professional in May 1919.
After scoring 175 goals in 327 league appearances, he joined
Manchester United FC on transfer deadline day, 16 March 1928 and
made 35 league appearances, scoring nineteen
goals. Signed for Port Vale FC on 8 November 1929, and remained for
less than a year, scoring just twice in five
league appearances. |
