Leyton Orient
FC trainee, before signing professionally on 5 July 1999. Shorey signed for
Reading FC on 9 February 2001 for £25,000. Shorey helped his club into the elite following promotion from the Football League and remained in
the Premier League following Reading FC's relegation, as he signed for Aston
Villa FC on 7 August 2008. Shorey failed to settle, and on 1 September
2009, he almost joined Portsmouth FC on a season-long loan, but the deal
fell through. Instead, on 24 November he joined Nottingham Forest on loan]. On his return to Villa Park, he was
loaned out again to Fulham FC on 1 February 2010. Shorey joined West Bromwich
Albion FC on 7 August 2010, and was released on
16 May 2012. On 10 July 2012, he re-signed for Reading FC, until he was
again released on 24 May 2013.
He then had a trial with Brighton & Hove Albion FC on 24 June, and played
in a friendly for Millwall FC on 13 July. On 30 August, he
signed for Bristol City FC on a short-term contract, he left in the
December. On 9
January 2014, Shorey eventually signed for Portsmouth, up until he joined
David Platt's FC Pune City in India in September 2015 and made
fourteen Super League appearances. On his return, without a club,
on 20 January 2016, Shorey signed with Colchester United FC, following the
club's relegation. His contract
was not renewed at the end of the season. Began training with Stevenage
Borough FC in August 2016, and made three National League South
