"On Wednesday afternoon, the picturesque little church of St. Cuthbert's,
Marton, was the scene of a very pretty wedding, the bride being Miss Amy
Caroline Mary Cochrane, J.P., of the Longlands, Middlesbrough, and the
bridegroom the Rev. Ernest James Wilson, M.A., of Home Lea, Cobham,
Surrey, son of Mr. Edmund Shimells Wilson, of Melton Grange, Brough, East
Yorkshire. The bride's family are well known in Middlesbrough, of which
town her father has long been a very highly respected resident, and the
bridegroom was one time curate of All Saints, Middlesbrough, and one of
the smartest forwards the Middlesbrough Football Club ever had."

clergyman and still married, Ernest James, is on his own with three
servants, living in Middleton-on-the-Wolds. |

According to the 1939 register, Ernest J. is a
retired clergyman, still married to Amy, and they live at The Trossacks,
in the Eston area of Middlesbrough. |

Tuesday, 25 May 1948 in a Scarborough
nursing home,
aged 87 years 101 days [registered in Scarborough, June 1948]. |

"DEATH OF THE VICAR.—
"His former parishioners in Middleton will regret to hear the death in a
Scarborough nursing home recently of the Rev. Ernest James Wilson, M.A.,
who until his retirement in 1937 was for 33 years Rector of Middleton. He
was 87 years of age. He is survived by his wife." -
