Friday, 16 September 2022 - Head Coach Roberto Mancini has named a 29-man squad for the Nations League matches against England and Hungary next weekend. Lazio's Ivan Provedel and Empoli's Guglielmo Vicerio could make their debuts, alongside Salernitana's Pasquale Mazzocchi. Udinese's 19 year old wing back Destiny Udogie misses out.

Monday, 19 September 2022 - The Azzurri report for their first training session at the Federal Technical Center in Coverciano. Paris Saint Germain's coach Christophe Galtier has confirmed that Marco Verratti had suffered a calf injury in their Ligue 1 match last night against Lyon, and as a result, withdrawn from the squad and remained in France.

Tuesday, 20 September 2022 - As preparation continues in Coverciano for Friday's penultimate match against England on Friday, two more players have had to leave the FTC. Lorenzo Pellegrini and Matteo Politano have both returned to their clubs for further assessments. At the same time, Robero Mancini has called up Spal's Salvatore Esposito, Sassuolo's David Frattesi and Sampdoria's Manolo Gabbiadini.

Friday, 23 September 2022 - Sandro Tonali has withdrawn from the squad and unavailable for the matches against England and Hungary. He will be watching his teammates from the stands tonight. Also dropping out because of injury is Ciro Immobile.
