Friday, 1 March 2024 - Dorival Júnior announces his first 26-man squad for Brazil's March matches against England at Wembley and Spain at the Bernabéu. New Real Madrid striker Endrick has been called up, potentially playing at his new home. Manchester United midfielder Casemiro continues to keep his place as captain whilst Beraldo of Paris Saint-Germain has also been named. Tottenham striker Richarlison has been included despite picking up a knee injury last week.
Dorival, 61, had promised to include more domestically based players in his squad. The younger generation has grown accustomed to watching Brazilian stars in action for European clubs. Older folk find it harder to accept, and frequently clamour for more local names in the national squad. Dorival has been playing to this constituency.

Monday, 11 March 2024 - Porto forward Galeno is among three uncapped players drafted into Brazil's squad for friendlies against England and Spain. Galeno, 26, has scored 13 goals and provided 11 assists across all competitions for the Portuguese top-flight club this year. Brazil manager Dorival Junior also added Vasco da Gama goalkeeper Leo Jardim and Flamengo center-back Fabricio Bruno to his squad for the matches later this month. The trio replace injured Brazil regulars Ederson, Marquinhos and Gabriel Martinelli. Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson has a leg muscle strain, Paris Saint-Germain defender Marquinhos is recovering from an Achilles problem and Arsenal forward Martinelli has a foot injury.

Monday, 18 March 2024 - Arsenal's Gabriel withdraws as Dorival replaces him with Juventus' Bremer, who is celebrating his 27th birthday. Captain Casemiro is also replaced with Porto's Pepê.
The team arrive in London and make full use of the training facilities at Arsenal.
