countries finished level on points. And as goal-difference was not in
force, all four countries shared the honour.
The Wales Northern
Ireland attendance comes from many of the periodicals from the following
day, many stated 45,000-but the Welsh newspapers stated 37,000.
England were quite literally one minute away from finishing bottom, which
has not happened since 1928. |
