Monday, 16 March 2015 - FIGC President Carlo Tavecchio, FIGC CEO Michele Uva, Italy head coach Antonio Conte, Turin mayor Piero Fassino and Sports assessor Stefano Gallo attended a press conference in Turin ahead of the presentation this morning. The game is to be just one part of the 'Torino 2015 Capitale Europea dello Sport' project (Turin 2015 European Sports Capital). "It promises to be a match between two national teams that have made history of world football which will be held in one of the most fascinating cities in Italy, in the most modern stadium in Italy (Juventus Stadium)." This will be the second time the Azzurri have played at the Juventus Stadium. The first time was less than two years ago in a World Cup qualifier against Czech Republic.

Saturday, 21 March 2015 - Antonio Conte named the three uncapped players, Franco Vazquez, Mirko Valdifiori and Éder ahead of matches with Bulgaria and England. Toronto FC midfielder Sebastian Giovinco missed out on a call-up. Sampdoria striker and Brazilian-born Eder has scored eight goals in Serie A this season to help Sinisa Mihajlović's side challenge for a top-six place, while Vazquez has netted seven goals from midfield for Palermo. Conte also welcomes back Juventus defender Andrea Barzagli for the first time since the World Cup, but there is no place for Roma's Daniele De Rossi.

Sunday, 22 March 2015 - Goalkeeper Mattia Perin is forced to withdraw from the squad because of injury to his right shoulder. Perin was forced off early in the second half of Genoa's 1-0 defeat at Juventus today. Conte has called up Lazio's Federico Marchetti as his replacement.

Saturday, 28 March 2015 - Gianluigi Buffon has been ruled out of his country's important Euro 2016 qualifier against Bulgaria on tonight with flu and is a doubt for their friendly against England in Turin on Tuesday. Buffon, 37, was left back at his hotel as his team-mates arrived at the National Stadium in Sofia. The Azzurri will be skippered in Buffon's absence by Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini, famous for being the victim of Luis Suarez's bite at last summer's World Cup.
Antonio Conte has received death threats following an injury to Juventus's Claudio Marchisio, the president of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) has revealed. The midfielder was suspected to have ruptured his knee ligaments as he trained for Saturday's qualifier against Bulgaria, which Italy drew 2-2. Juventus have since confirmed the 29-year-old has not torn his ligament. 
Italy fought back to a 2-2 draw with Bulgaria. Italy took the lead early on through Minev's own goal but Bulgaria turned the match around thanks to two quickfire goals. Eder, a naturalised Italian citizen who was making his debut, grabbed an equaliser with less than 10 minutes to play. Italy have won three and drawn two of their five matches to date.

Sunday, 29 March 2015 - Antonio Conte has selected FC Internazionale Milano defender Davide Santon for the friendly game against England - his first call-up since February 2013. The 24-year-old has made eight appareances for the Azzurri. He was last in the squad two years ago against the Netherlands. However, the full-back did not feature.  AC Milan's Ignazio Abate has also been drafted into the sqaud.

Monday, 30 March 2015 - Genoa CFC defender Andrea Bertolacci has pulled out of the Italy squad. The 24-year-old suffered a shoulder injury during Saturday's 2-2 draw in Bulgaria.
