Monday, 15 March 2021, midday - New coach Paulo Sousa has announced his first Polish squad, consisting of 27 players, for the opening World Cup qualification matches against Hungary in Budapest, Andorra in Warsaw and England at Wembley.

Saturday, 20 March 2021 - The German based Polish players have been allowed to join up with the Polish squad. Hertha's Krzysztof Piątek and Bayern's Robert Lewandowski have both had their release confirmed. The French Federation have also allowed Marseille's Arka Milika to be exempt from all quarantine restrictions.

Monday, 22 March 2021 -
Poland's captain Robert Lewandowski was at the Presidential Palace in Warsaw to receive the Polish Order of the Commander's Cross for outstanding sporting achievements, as well as promoting the country of Poland, from President Andrzej Duda.

Wednesday, 24 March 2021 -
Mateusz Klich has tested positive for the coronavirus, and although he is showing no signs of illness, he will not be permitted to travel to Hungary.

- A six-goal thriller with Robert Lewandowski rescuing a point for the visitors after substitutes Krzysztof Piątek and Kamil Jóźwiak had initially cancelled out the hosts' two-goal advantage. Willi Orbán was the player denied an Hungarian winner.

A second member of the Poland national team has tested positive for Covid-19. Back-up goalkeeper Łukasz Skorupski has been withdrawn from their squad for the remaining matches against Andorra and England. Uncapped Karol Niemczycki, and under-21 international, has joined the squad as a replacement.

Sunday, 28 March 2021 - Poland 3 Andorra 0 -
Two goals by the captain Robert Lewandowski helped Poland labour to an unconvincing victory. He took his international goal tally to 66 with scrappy close range volleys either side of half-time. The night ended early for the captain, who was substituted because of a knee injury. However, Karol Świderski celebrated his debut by scoring the third goal of the night.

Monday, 29 March 2021 -
Robert Lewandowski is ruled out of Poland's next match against England after picking up a knee injury last night. He has damaged the collateral ligament in his right knee. Playing against England 'would carry too much risk of aggravating the injury.' The PZPN confirm that he faces up to ten days out.

Tuesday, 30 March 2021 -
Two more Polish squad members have tested positive for the coronavirus. Midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak and defender Kamil Piątkowski are the players affected. The PZPN are in discussions with UEFA to allow Krychowiak to play tomorrow night, as he is undergoing recovery.
