Both Winterbottom's side and Eriksson's team beat Wales. Ramsey's team beat Spain by a single goal, as did Southgate, over Croatia. Remarkably, Ron Greenwood's team, Bobby Robson's side and Roy Hodgson's selection, were held to scoreless draws, by Spain, Turkey and Slovakia respectively. It was Ron Greenwood's final match as England manager.
