Began his junior career
with Gresley Rovers FC, then Newsyead Byron FC, before joining Notts
County FC in 1895. Joined rivals Nottingham Forest FC on 2 January 1896.
He moved onto Grimsby Town FC on 3 January 1899. Transferred to Leicester
Fosse FC on 5
June 1901, and then to the recently renamed Manchester United FC for the
end of the 1901-02 season. In March 1903, Richards joined Doncaster Rovers
FC, but his appearances were not enough to keep Rovers up
and both Doncaster and Richards dropped out of the league. |
