Steele began his career in
the youth ranks of Middlesbrough FC, signing professionally in May 2009.
Joined Nortmapton Town FC on loan on 27 February 2020 for the remainer of
the season. He returned to Boro to become first choice keeper. After
losing his place because of injury in 2013-14, Steele was sent out on a
season-long loan to Blackburn Rovers FC on 1 September 2014. The deal
became permanent on 31 December 2014. On 26 July 2017, he then joined
Sunderland AFC for £½million deal. He was expected to join
Derby County FC in February 2018, but the deal fell through with County
unwilling to make the loan deal permanent. Following Sunderland's
relegation from the Championship, Steele was signed by Brighton & Hove
Albion FC on 21 June 2018 for an undisclosed fee. |
