Birth 20 September 1933 in Fallowfield, Manchester, Lancashire [registered in Manchester South, September 1933]. Youngest of three to Charles Sydney and Hannah.

Cannot be found on the 1939 register, presumably still closed.

First marriage to Barbara Mavis Southern, at St. Edmund's Church in Manchester [registered in Manchester, June 1951]. They had four children, Stephanie (b.1951), Roger (b.1957) Deborah (b.1958) and Malcolm (b.1961). Divorced in 1969.
  According to the Passenger Notes, Dennis Viollet was one of many Manchester United footballers that arrived in New York on board the Queen Mary on 20 June 1960. His address was stated as 561 Kings Road in Stretford.
Second marriage to Helen B. Greeph [registered in Manchester, June 1969]. One daughter, Rachel (b.1972), she will become a leading British tennis player, reaching the second round at Wimbledon 1996.
Death 6 March 1999 in Jacksonville, Florida, aged 65 years 167 days [not registered in UK]. Following a two-year battle with a brain tumour.

Distinctions In 2010, Viollet was inducted into the Washington DC Soccer Hall of Fame. Viollet was also inducted into the first class of the USL Hall of Fame in 2002. The annual University of North Florida/Jacksonville University football match has been contested for the Viollet Cup since 2001. The Dennis Viollet Soccer Training Center was dedicated in 2006 and located at the Complete Soccer Academy in Longwood, Florida.
