Football League Division One:

Craven Cottage. Fulham (22,108)
Earle 57, Conway 84 ~ Summerbee 49, 68, Young 53, Lee 86
Fulham were without George Cohen

Matches postponed due to more than one player on international duty:
  Sheffield Wednesday vs. Stoke City
Stoke were without Gordon Banks, John Mahoney & Roy Vernon

  Wolverhampton Wanderers vs. Arsenal
Wolves were without Derek Dougan
Arsenal were without Terry Neill, Frank McLintock & Ian Ure

The first-division clubs were now getting wise to the fact that they could be at a disadvantage if they only had one international in their midst, whereas clubs with two or more could postpone their fixtures. So, eight games were rearranged in advance, and two were then called off due to international call-ups, leaving just one fixture on the day, as Fulham once again found, to their cost, that George Cohen's selection left them as the one team to suffer, in a season that saw them finish bottom and relegated. Their opponents, in sixth place, would spend much of the season under the radar, but they would ultimately finish top of the pile.
