Monday, 27 May 2024 - Head Coach Francesco Calzona has named a preliminary squad of 32 players after a camp in Šamorín for players whose season ended early. Calzona did not call up striker Róbert Mak, defender Martin Valjent or Serbian Aleksandar Čavrič. Róbert Mak scored twice in the Euro 2024 qualifiers.

Friday, 31 May 2024 - The Slovak Falcons will start training at 10:00 a.m., when the team meets at the Hilton Hotel in Bratislava and then departure to their training camp in Bad Erlach, Austria, is planned.

Wednesday, 5 June 2024 - Slovakia 4 San Marino 0 - The Slovakian team won 4-0 over San Marino in tonight's preparation match. At the stadium in Wiener Neustadt, Austria, they scored three goals in the first half. Midfielder Tomáš Rigo opened his scoring account on his debut for the national team. Dávid Hancko and Juraj Kucka (shoulder) were unavailable because of injury.

Friday, 7 June 2024 - Calzona has cut six players from his Final squad. Dominik Takáč, Michal Tomič, Matúš Kmeť, Jakub Kadák, Dominik Hollý and Róbert Polievka being left out.

Sunday, 9 June 2024 - Slovakia 4 Wales 0 - The Slovakian team won 4-0 over Wales in the dress rehearsal match for the European Championship in Germany. Juraj Kucka opened the scoring in Trnava before half-time, and Róbert Boženík scored after the change of sides and after an hour, Wales' captain Ethan Ampadu put through his own goal. Before the end, their win was sealed by substitute László Bénes.

Tuesday, 11 June 2024 - The Slovak national team landed (11:06am) at Frankfurt airport. From there, they travelled by coach to Mainz, where the team have set up their headquarters during their stay in Germany. Later, the players had an open training session and an autograph session at the Bruchweg Stadium in front of hundreds of fans. Denis Vavro, who has a minor muscle injury issue, waorked on an individual programme indoors.
The squad was officially welcomed in Germany by Interior Minister Michael Ebling, Mayor of Mainz Nino Haase, and his deputy Günter Beck. The president of the 1st FSV Mainz 05, Stefan Hofmann, was also present.

Monday, 17 June 2024 - Belgium 0 Slovakia 1 - Slovakia caused an upset in their Euro 2024 opener as they stunned Belgium in a chaotic encounter in Frankfurt. There was drama in the final minutes as Romelu Lukaku thought he had equalised, only for VAR to rule it out for handball in the build-up. It was the second goal he had scored that had been ruled out after earlier poking in a header across goal from Amadou Onana. Ivan Schranz put Slovakia ahead when he capitalised on a mistake at the back by Jeremy Doku. After missing countless chances throughout, several falling to all-time top scorer Lukaku, Belgium eventually left empty-handed. In a topsy-turvy 90 minutes, substitute Johan Bakayoko was denied by a superb goalline clearance from Slovakia's David Hancko. Lukaku's frustrations grew as chances kept passing by - the best coming within three minutes after Doku had gone on a spectacular run down the right. Belgium's inability to grasp control meant they trailed at the break, with Doku's costly mistake helping Slovakia get the upper hand. Kevin de Bruyne remained a threat, while Leandro Trossard curled an effort over the bar following a poor clearance from goalkeeper Martin Dubravka. Lukas Haraslin also came close on occasions for Slovakia, fizzing a superbly executed volley towards goal which needed saving by Koen Casteels, before placing another strike wide in the second half.

Friday, 21 June 2024 - Slovakia 1 Ukraine 2 - Roman Yaremchuk scored a crucial winner for Ukraine as they came from behind to beat Slovakia and keep their campaign alive. The Valencia striker had been on the pitch for 13 minutes when he gave his side the lead. Yaremchuk was alert to Mykola Shaparenko's ball over the top and finished smartly. A brilliant touch allowed him to delicately nudge the ball past Martin Dubravka into the bottom left corner from six yards out. Ivan Schranz scored after 17 minutes to put Slovakia in front, with his second goal in as many games, before Ukraine came back to seal a huge victory. Shaparenko equalised for Ukraine in the 54th minute, sweeping home from close range following Oleksandr Zinchenko's cross, before Yaremchuk made sure of three priceless points ten minutes from time.

Wednesday, 26 June 2024 - Slovakia 1 Romania 1 - Romania finished top of Group E as they and Slovakia reached the last sixteen with an entertaining draw in Frankfurt. Ondrej Duda gave Slovakia a 24th-minute lead when he got in behind the Romanian defence to power in a header from Juraj Kucka's pinpoint cross. Both sides showed plenty of attacking intent, and Romania equalised before half-time as Razvan Marin fired a ferocious penalty into the top corner after David Hancko fouled Ianis Hagi in the box. They finished top, with Belgium second in the group after a draw with Ukraine, who were eliminated. Slovakia advance as one of the best third-placed sides and face England in the last sixteen. It was the first time in Euros history that all four teams within a single group have finished on the same points.
