William is living in a one-room furnished first-floor lodgings in Brook
Street, owned by his father, in 1905, and had moved onto Baylie Street by,
at least, 1910. According to the 1911 census,
Joseph William, still a Professional Footballer, is married and living with his
wife of three years, Rose Emma, at The Lindens, in Baylie
Street, Stourbridge.
They are also the parent of their six month old son, Joseph William.
By 1914-20, the Worcestershire Electoral Registers state Joseph
William is living at The Bell Inn, 21 Beale Street in Cropthorne. |

According to the
1921 census, Joseph William, still a professional football player and
still married to Rosa, with another child, Joyce. They live at The Butts
in Great Comberton with Rosa's younger sister and their widowed mother is
a visitor, confirmed by the Worcestershire Electoral Registers in 1921
and at Great Hampton House by 1924, and at 113 Two Gates in Cradley by
1935-39. His father died in mid-1922. |

According to the 1939 register, Joseph W. and Rose E.D.
are still married, living at The Travellers Rest, at 108 Aston Road North
in Aston, Birmingham, where Joseph is the manager. Midlands
Elcetoral Registers states the three Bache's, Joseph, Rose and Joyce, are
at The Travellers Rest in 1939, but also in Cradley, at 50 Parkside Road
(until at least 1946). His wife, Rose, died in mid-1950. |

Began his career with Bewdley Victoria before joining Stourbridge
FC. He joined Aston Villa FC for a £100
transfer fee in December 1900. He later became the Villa captain. He made a war-time
guest appearance with Notts County FC. He joined Mid-Rhondda FC as
player-manager in August 1920 and then Grimsby Town FC as player-coach
on 20 July 1920 to 1921. After which he became a coach in Germany for four years,
including a spell with Mannheim FC from October 1924. |
